Dr. Kevin Pixley

Kevin Pixley is the Interim Director of the Global Wheat Program and the Director of the Dryland Crops Program at the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) in México. He holds a B.Sc. in Agronomy from Purdue University (USA), an M.Sc. in Crop Physiology from the University of Florida (USA), and a Ph.D. in Plant Breeding and Cytogenetics from Iowa State University (USA). Kevin has made significant contributions to plant genetic resource preservation and utilization, as well as to maize breeding, in various research and administrative roles. He is also a strong advocate for applied agricultural training, including graduate student mentorship, course instruction, and bidirectional capacity strengthening.
